Parachute flares used to find missing woman

Parachute flares have been used by RNLI rescuers in Wales to search in the dark for a missing woman.

Port Talbot RNLI was called out in the early hours one morning in late February to help find the woman, as her family was concerned for her safety. It was joined by the coastguard and local police.

The lifeboat searched the coastline and the River Afan using parachute flares, while the other emergency services searched the beach and surrounding areas.

After two hours the woman was located by the police a short distance away from the area.
