Fireboat responds to flare

Port Jefferson Fire Department

A fireboat in New York State, USA, responded to a flare sighting and towed three passengers in a disabled boat to harbour at Port Jefferson.

Fireboat 6 was alerted after reports were received of a flare being fired, one evening in August 2019, according to the Port Jefferson Fire Department’s Facebook page.

It located the disabled boat with three passengers aboard near Port Jefferson Harbor and towed it into shore.

EMS personnel also responded, in case medical treatment was needed.
